The Lima Community Air Monitoring program is an air sampling program with six sample sites located in public areas of the communities of Lima and Shawnee Township, Ohio. The air samples are collected at two-week intervals and sent to a laboratory for analysis. The analysis is for three compounds: Benzene, Toluene, and Xylene. The sample sites are located at St. John's Church, Lima Central Catholic Wetlands, Woodlawn Cemetery, and Health Partners of Ohio Lima, all in Lima as well as at Heritage Park and the Shawnee Township Fire Department, both in Shawnee Township, OH. Funding for the air monitoring program comes from the Lima Refining Company and the program is administered by Montrose Air Quality Services, an independent air monitoring company.
